Princeton Satellite Systems 5 kW vertical axis wind turbine is designed to meet the electrical power needs of most homeowners and businesses. It is easy to install and requires no maintenance or upkeep. It connects to your electrical system through a single 50/60 Hz connection to your junction box. It is designed as a grid tie system so that when you aren't using the power it feeds the power back into the grid automatically.
The wind turbine attaches to the top of your house as shown in the picture
Two turbines could be used on a house this size. The turbine rotates about the vertical axis and the two wings rotate to maximize the absorption of the wind energy. Larger installations (such as a store) could have multiple wind turbines in a grid on the store roof.
We expect that the wind turbines will be available in late 2009 or early 2010. The target price is under $10K. If you are interested in being kept posted on our progress, or have any questions, fill out the form on this page.
